Now, the Freitags remember Abigail’s birthday, September 22, during The Million Mile. Abigail’s parents and three siblings started their team in 2016, to support other kids like Abigail and families on their cancer journeys. Since then, they have come back each year with bigger ideas, including hosting a 5K with their town, beginning the month with a 10-mile run to Abigail’s memorial, and hosting a kids’ fun run and family day!
Your support will go towards critical research projects funded across the country. That continues to be a driving force for Abigail's family, who know the importance of funding research to help discover new treatments. They want to honor Abigail's memory by raising money for research that gives kids with cancer a chance for brighter futures.
Christine, Abigail’s mom, said, “No matter what, we will have a team and will raise money. When it’s the end of the day and it’s hard to put my shoes on, sometimes thinking of Abigail and what she went through gets me to take my first steps. The Million Mile is fulfilling for your personal goals, but you also get to raise money for something so desperately needed.”
